Cincinnati Trip

We needed to get away for just a weekend.  This is a mini vacation since we did not get to really go anywhere over the summer.  (Which would be because of all the house issues and getting that done.)  We went with a family in our ward at church.  It was so much fun!

We found a place called Jungle Jims.  I suggest anyone who goes to the north part of Cincy to go there.  It is a market that has food from all over the world.  We spent 2 hours there just looking at all the different things they have there.  Their selection of cheese was overwhelming, at least 3 isles full of it!  Then all around the main store are smaller shops, one of which is a pet store that has the cutest puppies.  One was an english mastif.  I totally want one!!

We also discovered IKEA.  That just happens to be one of my favorite stores!  It a bummer we do not live too close to one, but I guess that could be a good thing.  Not only do they have a huge selection on things, but good prices and even a place for food!  You could spend all day there!

We also went to the Aquarium.  I love that place.  There are lots of turtles there.  Since it was close to Halloween, they had specials there like: Underwater sword fighting pirates, underwater pumpkin carvings,  and mini pumpkin decorating for the kids.  It was a blast!!!

Swimming in the hotel was so much fun!
Stevie loved it.

You know me, trying to get him to swim!!

These are the pictures from the aquarium

Love this huge puffer fish, they are my favorite fish!

Adalyn loved tyring to get the fish, she's getting so big

Always have to have a turtle picture!

Notice this crab is as big as Adalyn

They had pirates carving pumpkins underwater!  It was fun to watch.
The big fish around would eat the pieces.

Stevie loved trying to touch the sharks.

Pumpkin Patch

Stevie in search for the best pumpkin!  (I promise this is a pumpkin patch, I know there are none in the picture though!)

Could not get him to stop chewing on his jacket

This is his pumpkin!

This is the one that Tim loved!  He thought it looked like a butt!  He did not choose it because it had started to rot inside.  However on the way home he decided he should have taken it and another bigger one so he could make it look like it was sitting on a toilet.  BOYS!

Stevie loves pumpkins.  Every time we passed one while we were driving he would should punkin!  So we thought going to the patch would be a blast.  He got tired after a few minutes and then wanted to be carried.  So I guess that plan did not work after all!!!

Who's bath time is it????

A couple of Sunday's ago Tim asked Adalyn if she would like to take a bath.  (of course she cant answer yet!)  So he prepared to give her one in the sink.  Stevie LOVES baths.  He would live in one if we let him and upon hearing Tim ask if Adalyn wanted a bath, proceeded to strip off his clothes and diaper.  We would not let him get into the sink, he's too big of course, so he pulled up a chair and played in the water with her.  I was in their room getting church clothes ready and I guess some one came to the door.  So I went to the kitchen to watch the kids while Tim talked to a neighbor and guess what I found . . . . . .

Yes, Stevie had gotten into the sink with Adalyn!  She clearly is having a great time, despite the lack of room!

Since there was no room for Adalyn to move, we filled up the other side of the sink for Stevie to play in.

Who would of thought that bath time would be so much fun!!  At least she was such a good sport about it all!  That really made my day!!!

I know Halloween was on a Sun. this year, but we decided to take them around the block anyway.  We counted this as an FHE and spending time together as a family!  It was also fun to show them off to the older people that live around us.  They loved seeing the kids!
Stevie loved all the different costumes.  He didnt even get scared when he saw scary ones.  He would just look at them like they were crazy!  Here are their costumes:  Stevie, Franklin the Turtle.  Ada: Peapod.  Such cuties!

The New Painted Living Room and fun around the house!!

So we finally got around to painting the living room or our new home!  The old walls were all wooden panels.  Yes, I am so glad they are gone!!  We had to do a lot of work to hide it though.  I did not want the lines from the paneling to show, so we had to spackle them.  That is where I learned that I am not too good at spackeling.  I used way to much, but I got them covered!!  Then we had to sand it down, then paint.  What a fun time.  Tim even took half a day and a whole day off work to help, otherwise, I would have been doing it myself.  Here are the results of the day!

Yes, for those of you who know Tim, he is playing his playstation!  I know it's distracting, but look beyone him and you can see the wall.

The wall here behind the couch is not finished.  We are planning on painting two borders around it in the other color (the brigher one behind Tim).

Yes, you can see Stevie here helping Tim play!  There are closeups further down, but he has found a gun for himself to use!!

Here is an extreem close up!  The teal is a little bold, but we like it.  I love it!!

All I need now it to create curtains.  I know what kind of style I want too.  They will be brown with teal (matching the bright one maybe) buttons on the top.  I know that sounds wierd but it will be cute!

Stevie has discovered my curling irons make good guns!!

He likes to concentrate!

This picture is hilarious!!  He took my old glasses and tried to wear them!  I think he looks alot like my older brother Frank when he wore glasses when he was younger.  They still had their lenses in and he could not walk to well.  It was funny watching him try to figure out what was going on.

Stevie's working man clothes!!!

My first attempt on a hair bow for adalyn!  It worked ok.  but not he best.  Still needs more hair.

I love this outfit!  I guess she was just exhausted!

Outside having fun on a great day!

Thought it was festive that she was eating a bat

I totally love his eyes in the picture!  He would pour water from a tea kettle and pour me and him drinks.  Then we would throw the water out!

I think he is making fun of me when I used to do workouts with the yoga ball.

Life is so much fun with kids.  I learn something new everyday!  It is wonderful to have our own house too.  Even though it is smaller, it is something that we have wanted for so so long.

Stevie playing in the rain!

Finally got some rain in Indy.  It has been a very dry summer, and was nice to get some kind of rain.  I found this little froggy rain suit at a yard sale and thought it was the perfect day for Stevie to try it out.  It also came with an umbrella, but it was broke, and I need to get arund to fixing it!

He had woken up from his nap not too long ago and wanted a snack.  So needless to say, getting him to
hand over the Pringles was not going to happen! But wouldnt he be a good model for them?
Maybe I should send it in?

Thought he looked like an old man here with his walking stick

Stevies' smile makes me so happy!

I love getting his reflection in the water!  I took a lot of those.

I love our new camera.  It is so much fun to take pictures with.  I know there is much more
that I need to learn with it, but for now, just taking fun action shots are good for me!!!
